Ancillary services refer to functions that help grid operators maintain a reliable electricity system. FRIEM designs and supplies effective and robust systems that help to maintain the proper flow and direction of electricity, address imbalances between supply and demand, and support the systems to respond to the grid’s needs.
In systems with significant variable renewable energy (RE) penetration, additional ancillary services may be required to manage increased variability and uncertainty.
These services generally include, frequency control, spinning reserves and operating reserves. Traditionally ancillary services have been provided by generators.
By integrating BESS systems with its own technology, FRIEM is able to provide complete systems that meet the modern needs and requirements of national and local electricity distribution grids.
